Any newborn infant admitted to a hospital in accordance with the “Safe Haven” law is presumed eligible for coverage under Medicaid, subject to federal rules.

Expenses/Billing Arrangements -

Follow the existing hospital procedure(s) to apply for Medicaid, etc. indicating that this is a “Safe Haven” event according to Florida Statue 383.50.
 
Note: Medicaid covers the newborn, and if eligible, the birth mother for services relating to the delivery and discharge of both.
